Marcea the singer

Marcea likes to say that she’s been singing since she could breathe. She is a soprano with a 4 octave range. She is a student of Beth Truitt, Jesse Desilva, and Steven Rickards.

Marcea the poet

Marcea has been writing poetry for over 10 years. She was president of Ball State’s Poetic Summit from years 2015 to 2016 and competed on Ball State’s Speech team from 2012 to 2016.

She is the sole author of her forthcoming album Tongues on my Mirror.

Her poetry has been featured on Write About Now’s Poetry channel and For Her, a concert, art, and poetry show celebrating women creatives.

Marcea the Educator

Marcea has been a proud educator for over 10 years. Marcea teaches a self created curriculum that raises the bar for K-12 music education.

She encourages students to explore their creativity while also teaching foundational music skills.

Marcea currently teaches elementary general music, composition lessons, and directs a school choir.

Marcea’s students have engaged in the following activities:

  1. Creating their own versions of Living Room Music by John Cage (grades 1-2)

  2. Beat making (grade 5)

  3. Writing four part rhythmic compositions (grade 4)
